Glutamine – Recovery, Gut Support & Immune Health

Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body, vital for muscle recovery, gut integrity, and immune system function. In bodybuilding, it helps reduce muscle soreness, supports faster recovery, and preserves muscle tissue during intense training or calorie deficits.

Beyond fitness, glutamine plays a crucial role in gut health, particularly in maintaining the intestinal lining. It’s often used to help manage IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and other digestive disorders by reducing inflammation and promoting healing of the gut lining.

In chemotherapy patients, glutamine has been studied for its ability to support immune health, reduce mucositis (mouth sores), and maintain gastrointestinal integrity during treatment.

Suggested Dose:

  • Bodybuilding/Recovery: 5–10g post-workout or before bed

  • Gut Health/IBS: 5g twice daily on an empty stomach

  • During Chemotherapy: Follow medical advice; commonly 10–30g/day split into 2–3 doses
